Disney will pay Comcast nearly $439 million to take full control of Hulu after a lengthy appraisal process, setting the stage for a unified streaming strategy with Disney+ and ESPN.

After more than two years of haggling, Disney has finally closed its deal with Comcast to buy out NBCUniversal’s one-third stake in Hulu — and Disney is paying much less than it would have if NBCU had its druthers.

The deal, hindered by a disagreement over the value of the Hulu stake, now means that Disney will own all of the streaming service.
