Reddit sued the artificial intelligence startup Anthropic on Wednesday, accusing it of stealing data from the social media discussion website to train its AI models despite publicly assuring it wouldn't.

Reddit sues Google-backed Anthropi and this is not the first time Anthropic has been hit with legal issues. They were sued before by a group of authors claiming the company used their copyrighted books to train its AI,

Reddit’s lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday, accuses the Amazon-backed AI company of breaching its user agreement. “As far back as December 2021…Anthropic was already—without authorization and in direct violation of Reddit’s User Agreement—training Claude on Reddit users” posts, the lawsuit claims.
