Attorneys for a man accused of killing four University of Idaho students have asked that his trial be delayed.

Defense attorneys for Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students, have asked for the trial to be delayed following informational leaks in the case. Boise, Idaho, criminal defense attorney Edwina Elcox joins “Banfield” to talk about the defense team’s prospects.

Any conviction and sentence resulting from a capital trial beginning in August 2025 will be unconstitutionally imposed and, therefore, vulnerable to reversal on direct or collateral review,” Kohberger’s defense attorneys wrote.
