Jason Statham is officially returning for a sequel to the 2024 action hit The Beekeeper. According to Deadline, horror-action filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto will helm the sequel, taking over from David Ayer as director.

The Beekeeper Hive is buzzing as the sequel is confirmed to have Jason Statham back. This week, it was announced that Statham will star in The Beekeeper 2, a follow-up to the 2024 film, which he will produce through Punch Palace Productions.

Interestingly, the sequel is facing some shake-ups behind the scenes: David Ayer, who directed the first movie, is apparently busy with his next project, Brad Pitt’s The Heart Of The Beast, and so won’t be coming back to help Statham aim his bees at the evildoers of the world.
