To celebrate the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday on July 6th, the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) commissioned musician Som Dasgupta to compose a special Hindi song. Dasgupta trained TIPA students in Dharamshala for a music video.

With his 90th birthday approaching, the Dalai Lama is expected to hint at his successor's identity, amidst China's claims over the selection process.
