Apple made plenty of announcements at WWDC, including a new aesthetic for its OSes and an updated numbering scheme.
Apple has officially announced iOS 26, skipping ahead of expectations that it would be called iOS 19. The update, revealed at WWDC 2025, brings a major visual overhaul, deeper AI integration via Apple Intelligence, and significant improvements across core apps like Messages, Phone, Maps, and Wallet.
In a matter of days, Apple will launch iPhone software which is strikingly different to what’s available now — even down to the naming.

Apple has introduced Liquid Glass in its upcoming iOS 26 update. Liquid Glass provides a "see-through" visual of a glassy surface throughout iOS 26's interface. The liquid part comes into play with how the see-through visuals adapt to the screen depending on what the user is doing.
