The Texas Longhorns are hosting the Texas A&M Aggies in Austin for the first time since the Lone Star Showdown was renewed.
The Aggies are 11-0 for first time since 1992 and have a lot on the line for their first trip to Austin since 2010.
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - United Longhorns defeated the Los Fresnos Falcons 27-20 Saturday Night securing their ticket to the Regional round for the second time in three years. The Longhorns took the lead early on in the ball game via a Juan Lopez run but United would miss the extra point to make it 6-0 in the first quarter.
Texas cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau, who had started all 10 games this season, was benched on Saturday in favor of true freshman Kade Phillips. Playing opposite of Malik Muhammad, Phillips made his first-career start against Arkansas and turned in a solid performance, finishing with four total tackles and two pass breakups.
