Muncy has been out since July 2, missing nearly five weeks with a bone bruise in his knee after a collision on a tag play during a game against the Chicago White Sox.

The Dodgers activated third baseman Max Muncy off the injured list and placed utility man Tommy Edman on the shelf with a recurrence of a right ankle injury.

Muncy was finally getting back on track both offensively and defensively before his injury after a rough start to the season. He was batting .250 with an .832 OPS and 13 home runs this season, but had a .345 average with a 1.199 OPS and four home runs in the eight games before the injury.
