Elon Musk’s SpaceX already has a footprint in South Texas but now wants to create an official municipality for the launch site called Starbase.

Voters in a part of south Texas that is home to Elon Musk’s rocket company, SpaceX, will decide whether to officially turn a small, coastal stretch at the southern tip of the Lone Star State into a city named Starbase.

Despite DOGE's work facing criticism and lawsuits, Musk has continued to defend its mission. He has said he plans to reduce the time he spends on DOGE and dedicate more energy to his companies, as Tesla's profits have plunged more than 70 percent since the start of the year.
