Kansas State was a -20 favorite when it edged the Oklahoma State Cowboys 14-6 (Under 50.5) last Saturday. The Wildcats were held to 284 yards in clocking their season-low in points. Their road victory was buoyed by a plus-4 in turnover margin.
Utah quarterback Devon Dampier wasn’t at 100% health against Baylor. In the Utes’ 55-28 win at Baylor last week, Dampier didn’t have a great game — 6-of-13 passing for 80 yards and a touchdown and eight carries for 23 yards.
Kansas State (5-5, 4-3 Big 12) vs. Utah (8-2, 5-2) kicks off at 3 p.m. CT. Kansas State has two chances to win one game to become bowl eligible. Its first chance is Saturday at No. 13 Utah. There have been easier assignments.
Kansas State is coming off a win against Oklahoma State, but it wasn’t pretty for the Wildcats. The Wildcats lacked offensive consistency and severely suffered in both run and pass blocking situations.
There is a good chance he will be more involved than usual against Utah, as K-State recently lost top wide receiver Jayce Brown to a season-ending injury. K-State quarterback Avery Johnson will look to get the ball to Jaron Tibbs and Bradley on the perimeter.
