: Republicans will retain control of the House of Representatives with a razor-thin majority in the next Congress. The AP has not called the race for control of the chamber, but House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries conceded that the GOP would have a majority.

More than a week after Election Day, control of the House of Representatives has yet to be decided. Out of the 435 seats in Congress’s lower chamber, 12 have yet to be called. How many of these seats — most of them concentrated in slower-counting Western states such as California and Arizona — does each party need for a 218-seat majority?

Republican control of both chambers of Congress means that President-elect Donald Trump will have a path to enact his agenda of tax cuts, immigration enforcement and foreign policy.
