Selling 15 million since it was first introduced back in 1994, like the American pop goddess the RAV4’s popularity shows no sign of waning. Witness last year, with the current fifth-gen RAV4 nearing the end of its life, Toyota managed to sell an incredible million of them, making it the world’s third best-selling car.
The sportiest Toyota RAV4 to this day is the fifth (and outgoing) generation’s Prime XSE. That changes Tuesday evening with the introduction of the sixth generation, however: Toyota has revealed the all-new 2026 RAV4, and with it the new GR-Sport trim, which it says has been “designed with input from the Toyota Gazoo Racing engineering division.”
