Duran should help bolster a Phillies bullpen that entered Wednesday with a 4.33 ERA, which ranked 24th among MLB teams, but that also added veteran David Robertson earlier this month.

The Twins are trading their hard-throwing closer in the midst of what is potentially the best season of his career on Wednesday evening to the Philadelphia Phillies, a source confirmed. In return, they are landing catching prospect Eduardo Tait and right-handed pitcher Mick Abel.

Duran was originally signed by the Diamondbacks as an international free agent in December 2014 and ended up with the Twins as part of the deal that sent Eduardo Escobar to Arizona before the 2018 trade deadline. Ironically, an hour before he was traded, Duran had addressed the idea of being dealt, according to The Athletic.
