President Donald Trump is hoping that separate phone calls Monday with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will make progress toward a ceasefire in the war in Ukr

President Donald Trump said over the weekend that he would speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy today to try and negotiate a peace deal to end the three-year-long war.

The intensified diplomacy came as Russia launched its largest drone barrage against Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.

The possibility of a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and russian dictator vladimir putin in Istanbul was seen as a historic
