The Boston Bruins made a costly gamble when they signed Elias Lindholm to a long contract this offseason; one that seems unlikely to pay off.
NHL trade deadline is less than two weeks away, and we still don’t know what path the Boston Bruins will take. The smartest path would be to sell and move a few veterans and/or upcoming free agents who might not fit into the team’s long-term plans.

Hampus Lindholm is “unlikely to return this season,” and there is no timetable for Charlie McAvoy’s return to action, according to general manager Don Sweeney, who met with reporters following Bruins practice Sunday at Warrior Ice Arena.
“It’s tough to take positives out of it, especially where we are in the standings,” said Morgan Geekie, who scored the tying goal late. “We let those points slip away. It took a little while to get going tonight. It shows resiliency to battle back but at this time of year I don’t think one point is going to do it.”
Lindholm's tally was the lone goal of the second period which cut the Bruins' early deficit in half. His power-play tally was his second goal of the season with the man advantage. Overall, Lindholm has 11 goals,
