Anthony Davis scored 24 points, Austin Reaves added 23 and the Los Angeles Lakers cruised to a 117-96 victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.
Jayson Tatum scored 24 points, Derrick White added 23, including Boston’s first 11 of the third quarter, and the Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 122-107 on Saturday night in the first meeting between the teams since the NBA Finals.
Also, after not losing a single game by double digits from the start of the season through the end of December, the Celtics have since suffered defeats of 13, 13, 17 and 21 points, all in their last 10 games. Those also were the only games this season in which Boston failed to score 100 points.

Kristaps Porziņģis, who has been critical of the Celtics after their worst games recently, sounded ready to dump the latest poor result into the nearest trash can and forget about it for good.
As opponents have tried to dent the Celtics’ championship armor, however, Tatum has remained consistent. He ranks sixth in the NBA in scoring, (26.7 points per game). He has scored at least 30 points in 18 out of 45 games. And he remains on track to finish with career highs in rebounds (9.0) and assists (5.4) per game.
While it was a mismatch on paper, JJ Reddick still implored his Lakers to play with a chip on their shoulder against the Wizards.
There might be a lot of casual fans surprised to see Barnes held in such high regard, but the 23-year-old standout out of Florida State is having a strong season. He is quietly averaging 20.3 points (PPG), 8.1 rebounds (RPG), and 6.5 assists (APG) per game while hitting 45.9 percent from the field.
