Opinion: Florida Open Carry Law + ‘Stand Your Ground’ = New Freedoms + New Dangers
The combination of stand your ground and permitess/open carry is likely to make the Sunshine State far less safe.
Florida passed the nation's first stand your ground law 20 years ago. Since then, 37 other states have followed suit, and research shows homicides have risen as a result.
