In a highly anticipated Broadway revival, Taraji P. Henson and Cedric The Entertainer will take the stage as Bertha and Seth Holly in August Wilson’s “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,” set to open in spring 2026 at a yet-to-be-named Shubert theater.

Debbie Allen will direct the revival of the August Wilson play, which is the second in Wilson's American Century Cycle and follows Black travelers seeking refuge at a Pittsburgh boarding house in 1911. The production is set to open in spring 2026 at a Shubert Theater to be announced.

The play will be directed by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Debbie Allen, who’s also a two-time Tony nominee for her work in West Side Story (1980) and Sweet Charity (1986). She previously directed an all Black production of Tennessee Williams’ Cat On A Hot Tin Roof starring James Earl Jones, her sister Phylicia Rashad, and more.
