Oregon's offense overwhelmed the USC defense and got just enough stops to pull away for a 42-27 victory on Saturday

Since then, the Ducks have responded. It pulled out a gritty win at Iowa and cruised by Minnesota. In presenting its true case to the selection committee, No. 5 Oregon put a bow on it with a 42-27 defeat of No. 16 Southern California.
No. 15 USC is unable to pull off an upset over No. 7 Oregon on the road, all but ending their quest to earn a College Football Playoff berth for the first time.
The Fighting Irish led 35-0 after one quarter of football. Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries. The Notre Dame offense ran for 324 yards on just 24 rushes — 13.7 yards per rush — with six touchdowns.
