Rev, which follows a trio of besties on a trip to open for Green Day, will also star Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey from The Office

A comedy movie inspired by (and developed with) Green Day is being produced by Live Nation Productions. Titled “New Years Rev,” the film is a coming-of-age story of three friends — played by Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman and Ryan Foust — who journey to Los Angeles, mistakenly believing that their band is opening for Green Day on New Year’s Eve.

Did you know Live Nation, the concert promoter, is in the movie business? The company is behind Rolling Loud, the upcoming Owen Wilson/Matt Rife film set at the titular hip-hop fest. And now Green Day are making their own Live Nation feature.
