Cowboys CEO and co-owner Stephen Jones briefly updated where negotiations stand last weekend with a comment that was quickly circulated and portrayed as the ball being in Parsons' court. "We want to pay Micah, too. He's gotta want to be paid," Jones said via The Athletic's Jon Machota.

The latest update from ESPN's Adam Schefter is particularly concerning. Schefter said that the Cowboys and Parsons are "further away from a deal in late July, early August than (they) were in late March, early April." Schefter then summed things up in a way that definitely has Dallas fans concerned.
