Ford Field Bound: Harbor Beach advances to state final, first since 2012
Harbor Beach crushed Bark River-Harris 40-0 to reach Ford Field for the Division 8 state final vs. Hudson on Nov. 28.
It took a gutsy finish against Ogemaw Heights for West Catholic to earn its 10 th state final trip. The Grand Rapids squad led virtually the entire game, but that distinction was in jeopardy when Ogemaw scored a touchdown with 9:47 to play, drawing within 20-18 then lining up for a game-tying two-point conversion.
After losing the opening set, Kingsley dominated the next three and brought home their first state title in program history. We caught up with volleyball coach Dave Hall, who finally accomplished the ultimate goal in his 27th year leading the team, and football coach Tim Wooer.
