Sovereignty surges ahead of Journalism to win the 157th running of the Belmont Stakes in a similar repeat of how the race unfolded in the Kentucky Derby.

Kentucky Derby winner, Sovereignty, is set for a rematch with Preakness Stakes winner, Journalism, having finished first and second, respectively, in the first leg of the Triple Crown. Journalism was originally favored to win the 2025 Kentucky Derby with 5-1 morning line odds.

Favorite and Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty beat out Preakness Stakes champion Journalism to clinch first at the second Belmont Stakes to be held at Saratoga Race Course.
