Snow has stopped as morning commute begins

The snow in Southeast Michigan is done, for now. Some squalls are possible later Thursday before another snowmaker arrives headed into the weekend.

Current models suggest Southeast Michigan will see between 2-8 inches of snow, with the highest accumulation in the Thumb. Metro Detroit is expected to see 3-6″ inches. Southern areas near the Ohio border might also see a wintry mix close to midnight, resulting in possible ice accumulation.

Winter storm warnings & advisories

Another impactful storm is still on track to come to Metro Detroit this weekend. The exact snow totals are too early to tell at this point. However, the system will dump a good amount of snow in the area. The difference from Wednesday/Thursday’s winter storm is that it looks like this will be over the course of two days.
