The Wonsan-Kalma Coastal Tourist Zone, unveiled in a ceremony on June 24, is found on North Korea’s eastern coast.

North Korea opened the Wonsan-Kalma beach resort, designed to accommodate up to 20,000 visitors, to develop the country’s tourism industry.

In an attempt to develop a tourist economy, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un celebrated the impending launch of Wonsan Kalma — a beachside resort on the east coast of the country with features such as a water park.
