Authorities say two people and a dog were killed when the small plane they were in crashed into a neighborhood in Simi Valley near Los Angeles.

Two people onboard a small plane were killed when the aircraft crashed into two homes in a Simi Valley neighborhood Saturday afternoon in Ventura County, just north of Los Angeles. There were no reported injuries to people on the ground.

Newly released audio captured the last communication between a pilot and air traffic control moments before a plane crashed into a Simi Valley neighborhood, killing two people and a dog. KTLA's Jennifer McGraw reports live on May 5,
