Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred’s recent decision to end the league’s ban on Pete Rose was at least somewhat influenced by President Donald Trump, Manfred said on Wednesday.

The decision does not ensure Rose or anyone else will be elected into the Hall, and that ruling is years away, presumably in December of 2027 for the induction Class of 2028.
