The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday issued a major decision scaling back the power of federal judges to block presidential policies nationwide, in what is considered a major win for the Trump administration’s efforts to end birthright citizenship for children born in the U.

The decision prompted confusion and phone calls to lawyers as people who could be affected tried to process a convoluted legal decision with major humanitarian implications.
