Wing Commander Namansh Syal of the Indian Air Force lost his life in a tragic Tejas fighter jet crash at the Dubai Air Show on Friday.
Misinformation surged online after the Tejas incident, even as officials urged caution pending the joint investigation report.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the government-run manufacturer of the Tejas light combat aircraft, said on Monday that Friday’s crash of the fighter jet in Dubai was an isolated incident caused by “ exceptional circumstances ”, Reuters reported. The company did not elaborate on the nature of these circumstances.
An IAF aircrash investigation typically concludes in two/three odd months. The reason for the crash is usually established in a week's time.
HAL shares fell after a Tejas fighter jet crashed at the Dubai Airshow, prompting an IAF inquiry and raising questions over India’s defence manufacturing plans.
HAL’s long-term fundamentals to remain robust, supported by strong execution, established order visibility and continued strategic importance to India’s defence modernisation plans, analysts said.
