MassDOT says it is routinely inspecting overpass bridge joints across Massachusetts throughout the winter. The Prudential Tunnel is inspected every two years and is currently being fully inspected, officials said. MassDOT said they have conducted inspects across over 150 points throughout the Boston-area tunnel system after concrete came crashing down on drivers in the Prudential Tunnel last week.

More than 150 locations across the Boston tunnel system were inspected over the weekend after a large chunk of concrete fell from the roof of the Prudential Tunnel during the Friday afternoon commute.
