MassDOT inspection crews installed overhead shielding after concrete debris fell from the ceiling Jan. 21.

MassDOT said they have conducted inspects across over 150 points throughout the Boston-area tunnel system after concrete came crashing down on drivers in the Prudential Tunnel last week.

Workers chipped out concrete in some spots, and added shielding in the area of the Prudential Tunnel underneath Huntington Avenue where debris fell.

Several vehicles were damaged Friday when concrete debris fell from the ceiling of a Boston tunnel, resulting in considerable traffic backups.
