Arizona residents are receiving texts about unpaid road toll fees and bills. Officials are warning people not to fall for these EZDriveMA texts.

A nationwide phishing scam is targeting drivers who scammers claim have unpaid toll road fines, officials with the Federal Trade Commission said in a new alert to consumers. “Scammers are pretending to be tolling agencies from coast to coast and sending texts demanding money,” officials said in a news release.

The fraudulent text message asserts that the receiver must follow a link to pay outstanding "FastTrak Lane" tolls to avoid fines and maintain their driver's license. FasTrak, which has a slightly different spelling,

If you receive a toll road text message you suspect could be a scam, the FBI previously suggested to do the following: File a complaint with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center and be sure to include the phone number where the text originated and the website listed in the text.

The text claims you have an unpaid toll bill and tells you you have a certain amount of time to pay before a fee will be assessed to your account. It's not real!
