Jan 23, 2023 · By this point, FL and OH will be safe/lean R. TX and FL are the biggest winners while the Midwest and CA all lose electoral votes. CA could be turning purple. At least for 2032, I think the map will generally look recognizable to a late 2010s/early 2020s observer, though there might be a few surprises.

Trump's Electoral College advantage shrinks to 1.6%. Harris carries the tipping-point state of PA by the same margin as Biden did in 2020.

I think it decreases from 2020, i think if i have to guess high +2 or low +3, so around +3, but it depends on what some big states like NY do, the speed of trends in states such as GA and TX. I think though given the rural/urban gap that the advantage remains with Trump. Logged.

Jan 1, 2021 · In 2020, the Electoral College favored Trump by nearly 4 points, which was higher than any bias seen in decades prior. I could honestly see a scenario where the continuation of trends in PA, WI, and NV causes that to grow further in 2024, as Trump takes exactly 270 Electoral Votes if he flips those 3 states. Logged.

Jan 1, 2021 · Sure, it’s a plausible map, but it’s pretty much the best-case scenario for Trump, and it’s sort of eye-rolling how many Republicans assume every close race will go their way. There hasn’t been a single recent election in which every single state decided by less than 4% has gone to one party.

Bush also stuck the "Massachusetts liberal" label to Kerry, and it didn't seem to really hurt him that much (i.e., he still almost won the electoral college!)
