The Butte County Sheriff’s Office released dramatic video of a deputy trapped in the “Camp Fire” in Paradise, CA on November 8th. One year after the Pine Grove Conservation Camp fire crew was deployed to battle the Southern California wildfires, CDCR Secretary Jeff Macomber visited the camp to recognize the impact of their service. During his visit, the Secretary commended the incarcerated firefighters for their hard work, courage, and commitment to rehabilitation. He also took time to listen as crew members shared how fighting fires, working as a team, and serving their communities helped change their lives for the better
