The amount of uranium in an ore sample can be determined by an indirect redox titration. The analysis is accomplished by dissolving the ore in sulfuric acid and reducing the resulting UO2 ^2 to U^4 with a Walden reductor. The resulting solution is treated with an excess of Fe^3 , forming Fe^2 and U^6 . The Fe^2 is titrated with a standard solution of K2 Cr2 O7 to a visual end point.
