Congratulations to new owner Mike O'Rourke who acquired the rare Yak-7B via the Classic Aircraft Sales Ltd. advertising in CW magazine. The Yak-7B has been moved into the JEM Aviation Ltd hangars where it will receive some upgrade work before joining the New Zealand Civil Aircraft Register. | Classic Wings Magazine

The Yakovlev Yak-7 NATO reporting name (Mark) was developed from the earlier Yak-1 fighter, initially as a trainer but converted into a fighter. As both a fighter and later reverting to its original training role, the Yak-7 proved to be a capable aircraft and was well-liked by aircrews.
