When you are diagnosing circuits, the POWER PROBE 4 gives you the confidence to safely test circuits. We connected it to the driver output from the engine control unit. We saw there was good ground, however when using Driver Test Mode to reference the transistor in the circuit to ground. With 1 volt displayed we realize it’s a faulty Control Unit caused by a bad transistor. Once replaced, the display on the PP4 shows a green light and a 0.2 volt reading, showing a perfect tolerance.
